Through masterful storytelling, music and song, Ollie's Adventures provides a kid- friendly way for children to explore contemporary topics ranging from diversity and ecological awareness to geography, history, science, social studies and conflict resolution.

Reasoning Throughout the show, the audience uses and develops their problem-solving skills. Using the architecture of storytelling, the children face challenges that require reasoning and strategizing. They are invited to draw conclusions, choose a course of action, and identify alternatives to situations. They learn to better comprehend cause and effect, as characters like Bad News Baba Looka demonstrate the consequences of destructive choices.
For the older children in First and Second Grade, the show is adapted to sharpen justifiable reasoning skills, as well as:

Social Studies - Features the Social Studies New Jersey and York State Standards As the audience travels around the globe, they encounter other cultures that may be new to them. They learn to classify the continents on a globe through color identification. A happy and a sad Earth puppet helps children to understand climate change, and the role that an individual can play in making a better world.
First and Second Grade will, in addition, acquire:

Language Arts - Features the Language Arts New Jersey and New York State Standards By using storytelling as a means of education, the audience’s literacy skills are honed. The children use critical thinking to follow the narrative and predict outcomes. In addition, songs like “Hey Gumbari” incorporate foreign languages (in this case Italian), teaching simple words, and exposing the children to an easy coherent narrative within that language. The song “Reading is a Galaxy” provides a basis for understanding the importance of reading and the resources of a library.
First and Second Grade will, in addition, acquire:

- The Ability to Reflect Upon and Forecast Narrative Structure

Health and Fitness - Features the Health and Fitness New Jersey and New York State Standards The show’s interactive nature incorporates audience participation in dance and activities that promote healthy physical development. The activities are engaging and physically energetic without the redundancy of a “workout routine.” In addition, healthy eating habits are encouraged. Rudy Rabbit, for instance is smart because he eats healthy vegetables.
